External wall insulation, or EWI, consists of insulating the exterior walls of a house or building. The walls are insulated by applying a layer of insulated material to the walls, providing an additional protective layer between your home and the outside world.
The material we use during wall insulation varies, but usually consists of mineral wool, polystyrene, and polyurethane foam. The material is attached to the wall using an adhesive or mechanical fixing, and a layer of render can be applied on top for extra protection and to achieve a clean, polished finish.
